Recreation League

We will continue with the changes we made last year for our upcoming 2025-2026 Oak Mountain Girls Basketball League. These changes were made with the intention of giving the girls more opportunities to grow in the game.

We will be changing the age divisions for the upcoming season to the following.

One OMGBL division will be Second and Third graders, using a size 27.5” basketball and 9 FT goals at Oak Mountain Middle School.
One OMGBL division will be Fourth and Fifth graders, using a size 28.5” basketball and 10 FT goals at Oak Mountain Middle School.
Our Sixth-grade girls will now be a part of a new program called “Oak Mountain Next”. The girls will be on teams with only sixth graders and play in a more competitive league against sixth graders from other schools.

OMGBL practices will be held at OMMS from 7-8pm for 2nd-3d grades and 8-9pm for 4th-5th grades on Tuesdays. Games are held at OMMS on Saturday mornings beginning on November 8th, 2025. This year we are adding a game to give us an 8-game schedule.

Evaluations and late registration will be held Monday, October 20st at OMMS. The 2nd-3rd graders will be evaluated from 7:00-8:00 pm and the 4th -5th graders will be from 8:00-9:00 pm. Evaluation night is an important night to attend. However, if your child can’t attend, please make sure all her paperwork is complete. We are starting our season a couple of weeks early, so it is important that all paperwork is completed in a timely manner. We will be ordering T-shirts for their game jersey no later than the Monday after evaluations. If you plan on registering on October 21st, please arrive early. We will be taking registrations beginning 30-45 minutes prior to your evaluation time.

Early registration will be $155 beginning September 22nd, 2025. Registration on Evaluation night and beyond will be $165. Registration will be closed October 31st.
