Recreation League

We are excited to begin our 2023-2024 Oak Mountain Rec Girls Basketball League. We are going to continue with some of the changes we put in place last year. We are asking that only one parent and no siblings attend our practices again this year. This helps give us more space for practice. We request that only the basketballs provided by OMMS be used.

Girls will be divided into two divisions: 2nd-4th grades and 5th-6th grades. Practices will be held at OMMS from 7-8pm for 2nd-4th grades and 8-9pm for 5th-6th grades on Tuesdays. Due to all the middle school activities, we must schedule around basketball and wrestling matches. Games are held at OMMS on Saturday mornings beginning on November 11, 2022. This year we are adding a game to give us an 8 game schedule.

2nd-4th grade games are played on 9 foot goals and will use a size 27.5” basketball.

5th and 6th grade games are played on 10 foot goals with a size 28.5” Basketball.

Evaluations and late registration will be held Monday, October 23rd at OMMS. The 2nd-4th graders will be evaluated from 7:00-8:00 pm and the 5th -6th graders will be from 8:00-9:00 pm. Evaluation night is an important night to attend, however, if your child can't attend, please make sure all her paperwork is complete. We are starting our season a couple weeks early so it is important that all paperwork is completed in a timely manner. We will be ordering T-shirts for their game jersey no later than the Monday after evaluations. If you plan on registering on October 23rd, please arrive early. We will be taking registrations beginning 30-45 minutes prior to your evaluation time. Early registration will be $155 beginning October 2nd, 2023. Registration on Evaluation night and beyond will be $165. Registration will be closed October 31st.

Thank you,

Coach Janine Noel
